Goal
- An automated tool to test & identify issues with initial IoT provisioning of Smart Home Appliances
- White Goods (Appliance) is Device-Under-Test (DUT) so the tool cannot modify HW/SW on the DUT
- Only communication between mobile phone (controller) and DUT is via Wi-Fi and BLE
- Features such as provisioning, registration to the Cloud should be tested
Scope of Work
- Skyline Labs designed the tool to run on a Mobile Phone as well as on a Laptop (controller software) with effective UI/Ux.
- While testing provisioning, registration, the tool would also detect & notify human errors in typing password, choosing wrong device, etc.
- Test the setup under severe conditions e.g. weak wireless signals, inconveniently located DUT etc
- Support standards such as 802.11 1/b/g/n/ and BLE 4.0, 4.2
